I have decided to share a short bit about my profile after repeated requests from various others in the business school blogosphere.
By matriculation I will have approximately 5 years working as an engineer for a Fortune 100 technology company; if you are in to tech in any way you have at least heard of us. I have served in roles ranging from engineering development and implementation lead for small groups, remote on-site customer consultations, and leading development of a small satellite office. In addition I have 4 internships from college with very well-known groups.
I performed my education at a major public American university in Computer Engineering, and somehow managed to graduate with a 3.9 GPA. I also stayed along for the ride and got my Masters in Computer Science at the same institution with a 4.0. Earlier this year, I studied for the GMAT and resolved myself to put in serious effort and only have to take the damn test once. After 3 solid months of eating, breathing, and sleeping MGMAT and Magoosh, I pulled off a 720 which exceeded my own expectations.
I have various leadership and mentoring roles starting in college and continuing in to my professional career. They have all been centered around showing younger students that STEM is a viable (and exciting!) career path. Outside of this, I have been involved on a few efforts trying to spearhead new development of technologies outside of work with other like-minded engineers.
This synopsis pretty much sums up my application package from a very high level. If you have any further questions feel free to leave them in the comments.
And now, on to (think about) preparing for my HBS interview so I can give you guys something real to read about this week.
