TheEngineerMBA Update: Still no word from MIT or Stanford

Hi guys, just checking in with business school application progress.
I am preparing to head out to Boston this weekend for my Harvard campus visit and interview Monday (I have not done any interview preparation yet – yikes!). My original intent was to hopefully get an MIT interview invite by now and double-up on the trip BUT I have not been invited as of yet. Ditto with Stanford if anyone was wondering. This was the first week of official invite notifications for both schools.
I was truly hoping that both schools would send a mass amount of invites out initially and calibrate thereafter based on applicant responses and interviews, but it seems this is not the case. Based on my very cursory studying of the gmatclub boards, it seems that very few people have been invited to either school in this first week.
Perhaps I was flying a bit too high emotionally (and egotistically) with the HBS invite, and thus expected quick turnarounds from both schools. Though the admissions staff will insist that timing has no bearing on candidacy, it certainly doesn’t feel that way as I hit refresh on my inbox for the 40th time today.
MIT’s idea of a joke. We will get along fine.
And MIT, what’s with sending me event invites and other non-interview mail all throughout the week? C’mon bros, this was already stressful without those daily mini heart attacks.
